Privacy Policy

We would like to thank you for using our website, and honour your privacy. Hereafter we will inform you about our handling of your data. These rules comply with the legal requirements of the appropriate German laws (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz BDSG, Telemediengesetz TMG, and further data protection regulations).

Data acquisition and processing

The usage of our website does not require declaration of personal data. Access information is stored without personal reference (internet service provider, last site visited, requested files, and date of request). This information will only be processed to improve our quality of service and cannot be linked to you.

Personal data will only be collected in case of voluntary transmission by you. This might happen when ordering from our shop, when creating a new account, or when registering for our newsletter.

Data transmission with SSL-encryption

To protect our customers, we use only certified encryption technologies. Thanks to SSL (Secure Socket Layer), your data is transmitted online in encrypted form (it cannot be read by third parties). Thus, you can be assured that your personal data (e.g. name and address) is safely transmitted to solely our server.

What is SSL-encryption?
When you access our SSL-encrypted page, your browser validates our SSL-certificate by contacting the source of certification (Thawte Server CA). This way the browser ensures that it is connected to the server you have requested and not to an impostor. After successful validation, your data is ciphered with a 256-bit-encryption and transmitted.

How do I recognise SSL-encryption?
Every time sensitive data is entered for ordering, login, etc., we use SSL-encryption. You will recognise this by a lock-symbol shown in your browsers address bar. Further on, the URL-address switches from “http” to “https”. This indicates that your data is protected from third parties.

Utilisation and propagation of personal data

If you request a service or delivery from us, your data will, without further compliance by you, be used only as is necessary to fulfil your request. This may include sharing your data with delivery and credit card companies, or other service providers needed to provide the service requested.

After fulfilment of your request, all data will be blocked from further utilisation until the compulsory period of record-keeping has passed. Then it will be deleted, unless you have expressed compliance into further utilisation.

If you register your e-mail-address for our newsletter, it will be used for advertising until deregistration, which is possible at all times.

Utilisation of cookies

To improve your online experience and provide certain functions, parts of our website make use of so called “cookies”. These small text files are stored on your computer. After termination of a browser-session, most of them get deleted (“session cookies”). Only so called “persistent cookies” remain on your hard disk and allow us to recognise you on your next visit. Our partners are not allowed to gather, process, or utilise personal data by use of cookies.
You can use the privacy options of your browser to delete persistent cookies as well, but this might reduce the functionality of our website.

Use of Piwik

This website uses Piwik, an open source tool for web analyses. Piwik utilises so called “cookies” (see above) to analyse your use of our website. The data (including your IP-address) is collected and archived on our webserver. It is used exclusively by us to optimise our products and the information presented on our website. This data is not shared with third parties and your IP-address is never linked with your other data. You can prevent the installation of cookies in your browser’s options, but this might reduce the functionality of our website.
By using this website, you express consent to the processing of your data by Watercool e.K. in the way mentioned above. You can withdraw your consent at any time and with future effect.
With regard to the dispute on IP analysing tools, we would like to point out that we only process shortened IP-addresses by using the Piwik-add-on “AnonymizeIP”.

Piwik is prepared to protect your privacy. If you would like to prevent the logging of your visit by Piwik nonetheless, you can disable this function below:

Use of social Plug-Ins

Our Website incorporates plug-ins from the social network Facebook. These are operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). The plug-ins are marked by the Facebook logo or the expression “Like”. If a website with this plug-in is visited, the browser automatically downloads the plug-in code from the Facebook-server. Thus, Facebook is aware about your visit on our website. Further on, if you are logged into your Facebook account at the time of the visit, Facebook can link the visit to your account. Any direct interaction with the plug-in (e.g. clicking the “Like”-button) is transmitted to Facebook. If you want to prevent this transmission, you should log out from your Facebook-account before visiting our website.

Extent and purpose of data acquisition by Facebook, as well as processing and utilisation of your personal data by Facebook, are subject to the privacy policy of Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).

Right of access

According to German law (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG), you may request information about your personal data archived by us free of charge. You may request correction, deletion, or blocking of this data as well, where appropriate.

Contact information on privacy

Any questions regarding acquisition, processing, or utilisation of personal data, and any requests concerning correction, deletion, or blocking of information, or about archived data, and any withdraws of consent should be addressed to:
