      Hello, I'm planning a loop and would like to use a Heatkiller IV Pro waterblock for an AM4 socket. Due to the design of my loop I would need to mount the block upside down on the socket to ensure the inlet/outlet are in the correct order. My question is first, is this possible? Secondly, will it have any adverse effect on performance?

      if I'm understanding you correctly, you would have the inlet in the center, and the outlet below it, instead of above it? That is perfectly fine and will have no negative effect, at all.

      It's another story if you connect it the wrong way around: if you connect the outlet to the center port, and the inlet to the offset port, you will most likely a temperature drop by ~5-8K.
